Who are you, where are you from, and what is it that you do?
Retired Canadian keeping my hand in photography.
What does nude art mean to you and why do you create nude art?
Best answered by reading Camille Paglia's Sexual Personae. As she notes the Venus of Willendorf was one of, if not the, earliest nude depictions. Though it is difficult to do well IMO, it is the more abstract aspects of an image that appeal to me. Hate glamour.
Is there something you have learned about yourself or society because of the work you create?
The nude has a tough time of it, at least in North America. Try and get a show in smaller locations. There is a great deal of Puritanism contributing to this. Several decades ago I had no difficulty finding a space for exhibition.
Who is your favourite model you worked with, and why?
Don't have a favourite. I try to work with models on more than occasion. They bring with them their own strengths. While a model is hired for a photographers concepts, a good model will pick up on them and it is a foolish photographer that doesn't follow such improvisations.
Which artist do you admire the most or has been an example or mentor to you and why?
Most influenced by Bill Brandt, Ralph Gibson and Weston.
What is your most favourite artwork you created?
Just one?!
